About CANImmunize

CANImmunize is an Ottawa-based technology company specializing in immunization software. It developed the CANImmunize app, a pan-Canadian digital immunization tracking system that helps Canadians keep track of their vaccinations with a mobile app and web portal. The team offers digital solutions such as ClinicFlow to businesses, health care organizations and governments for vaccinations and tracking for the COVID-19 vaccine rollout and other immunization needs.

Why CANImmunize?

We’ve been there since the start. We built the first digital vaccination tracking tool in 2012.

  • CANImmunize app allows Canadians to track their families’ vaccinations
  • We created and manage the pan-Canadian standards-based resource for vaccine terminology and product information, the Canadian Vaccine Catalogue
  • Our knowledge and expertise in the science of vaccination, vaccination program infrastructure and delivery in the Canadian context sets us apart from our competitors
  • Made-in-Canada solutions for Canadians and a model for the world

Since 2011, our team has been at the forefront of immunization policy and action on a provincial, national and international level, working with governments, healthcare and business.

The CANImmunize Story

Instead of using paper records to track your vaccinations, what if you could track them on your phone? A mother posed this question to Dr. Kumanan Wilson, a physician-researcher at The Ottawa Hospital, in an Ottawa park one day in 2011. This informal chat was the spark that grew into the CANImmunize app, created by Dr. Wilson and McGill engineering student Cameron Bell, which launched first in Ontario as ImmunizeON the following year. Read the article here.

The app later rolled out across the country as ImmunizeCA, with funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada. In 2016, it became CANImmunize, a digital platform that connects Canadians to their own vaccination records, sends reminders about when to be vaccinated and more.

Then COVID-19 hit and the world scrambled to pivot to a new reality. CANImmunize was ready.

Recently spun out as a technology company specializing in immunization software, CANImmunize created solutions to help with the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Nova Scotia, Yukon and Prince Edward Island. Our team now provides digital solutions to business, government, health care and other partners to meet emerging needs for digital COVID-19 immunization tracking and verification while maintaining the popular public app.
